Retford Heritage Open Day 2025
Saturday 13th September
We had another successful day with 11 venues open and, in addition, trips available on the Seth Ellis.

Our new exciting venue was the former King Edward VI School complex which now provides varied residential accommodation. Our thanks to Lyn Hills who conducted 2 tours around the outside of the buildings and David Mellor from the Old Edwardians (former pupils).
Several events during the day attracted interested audiences – a blue plaque celebrating Thomas Tootell, Retford’s first postman, was formally installed adjacent to St Michael’s church (a number of members of his family were present).

Performances from Rattlejag Morris dancers, Retford Ukelele Ensemble, the u3a Recorder Ensemble and Retford Community Singers made the day even more special.
